I have deeply appreciated Kelly's wonderful yoga classes because of her great joy, her ever-present smile, her loving and calm presence, her positive spirit, and her beautiful energy. I came to her restorative yoga class after enduring a lot of stress and trauma. Because she created a warm, positive, healing environment, her class was a powerful, safe place for me to release stress and find healing. I am immensely grateful!
As a Black woman in a yoga class I am used to the uncomfortable feeling of being the Only One. When I first walked into Kelly's class two and half years ago, I noted that as usual, I was the Only One. I set up my mat in the front so I wouldn't be reminded of my special status by looking at all the people who didn't look like me, and just be on my mat.
Kelly introduced herself and made eye contact and later hand contact (reiki) and then later meditation/mental contact with me on such a deep level that my feeling of loneliness seeped out and I almost cried. I think I did cry. Two and half years later, I've quit my day job and am practicing yoga daily. I have had some negative experiences in the course of my journey ,not everybody is Kelly, but thanks to the constancy of Kelly's support and encouragement and most important of all her example, I know that I am on the right path.
The Yoga community has a lot of work to do in practicing inclusiveness. The first step is to connect with every single person who walks into your class and really welcome them!
Kelly seems to have been born with this skill. It is not about "what is your name, do you have any injuries I should know about?" Its a celebration of differences in bodies, in skin tones, in voices, in ages, in genders. Can it be taught?
Kelly Brennan's class should be mandatory for any aspiring yoga teachers who want to master the fine art of Inclusion. If more teachers were like Kelly, I firmly believe more students would look like me. And that can only be a good thing.

I've been practicing yoga for many years and have never had a better instructor than Kelly Brennan.
Her classes are like poetry and her teachings often feel like the answers to my own questions.
Kelly is patient, kind and fun. She always reminds us to "start where we are" and guides us through poses as if we were doing them for the first time. Her teachings and her being, are a gift.
I can't recommend her more highly.

I like stretching in yoga. It makes me feel better. - Jack, age 8
I tried yoga a few times in high school but it never resonated with me. Years later I tried Kelly's class and left feeling better than I had in a long time. I began to work my schedule around making it to her class because even when I was exhausted from work and had no motivation, I knew that I always left feeling better.
Now private sessions with Kelly are the highlight of my week. She is more than a teacher; she takes genuine interest in her clients' lives. She creates a practice that works for me based on what's happening in my life at that time.
Kelly not only got me hooked on her style, but also inspired me to develop a consistent practice outside of our lessons.
My life is so much better for having met her.
-Julia, private client
I like how yoga makes me feel really relaxed at the end of the school week.
Kelly is an amazing teacher and so patient.
Kelly has the funniest laugh!
Kelly has shown me that yoga need not be intense and rigid rather yoga practice should be fun! From start to finish, Kelly's classes are emotionally and physically fulfilling as well as enjoyable, mostly because of Kelly's inherently calming nature and positivity. I leave every class standing a bit taller and feeling stronger, all the while looking-forward to the next. Kelly has truly been a life changing force to my life and I am appreciative and grateful.
Kelly's classes have really improved my quality of life.
Her classes have made me a calmer, happier, more grounded person.
